Remember, however that the online component(s) primarily focus on the theoretical aspects of the Care Certificate. To successfully complete this certification, learners are required to demonstrate their practical skills in a workplace setting and receive validation from a qualified individual. This involves completing an online course and subsequently presenting your certificate and mapping document to your manager, who will coordinate the competency validation process within your workplace.

Certificate Validation: This course primarily focuses on the theoretical aspects of the Care Certificate. 3. Duty of care
Understand what a Duty of Care is and how you can deal with complaints, incidents and difficult situations.

8. Fluids and nutrition
Understand the importance of handing food safely and that care plan needs are met.

9. Awareness of mental health, dementia and learning disability

10. Safeguarding adults

11. Safeguarding Children

12. Basic Life Support
Be able to provide Basic Life support procedures including CPR. This Standard is one where simulation training will be required as there is no way to be able to practice & demonstrate safely on an adult.
This is the one Standard that cannot be achieved with an online / 'on the job' training.
The Care Certificate Standard 12 in Basic Life Support is a standalone standard course that can be used towards the full care certificate. To complete this standard you MUST complete a short practical module to demonstrate your skills.

13. Health and Safety
Understand why the working environment needs to be safe and the legislation that requires this. Know how to log and report accidents / incidents / illnesses.

16. Awareness of Learning disability and autism
16.1 Demonstrate awareness of learning disability and autism
It is a legal requirement that all staff working in Care Quality Commission regulated services undertake training in how to interact appropriately with people with a learning disability
and autistic people, at a level appropriate to their role.
